Azores Commissioned to Install Second Demonstration Capability in Japan


December 7, 2006 - WILMINGTON, MA - Azores Corp, a leading manufacturer of advanced photolithography steppers for mobile display applications, will be installing a second PanelPrinter System at Hakuto Company, Ltd in Japan in 2007. The new installation will be with the Azores Model 9200 PanelPrinter, intended to provide demonstrations of Gen 4 applications to local customers. This system will mark a second Azores demo installation at Hakuto, the first being a 5200 PanelPrinter for Gen 2-3 applications last year. This recent order for another demo capability further exhibits Azores rapid growth and dedication to first-rate support for customers all over the world.

The Model 9200 System features precise resolution with a high performance 200 mm lens, including a large lens field and a depth of focus greater than 9 µm. By utilizing real-time auto-focus at every site, plus high-speed frictionless motion, the system offers throughput that is improved by as much as 80% over competing systems, while maintaining optimum CD control. Because the Model 9200 simultaneously provides both high resolution and throughput, it is ideal for precision Generation 4 applications, such as flat panel displays for PDAs, cellular phones, digital cameras, and global positioning systems.

The Model 9200 offers fully integrated subsystems that provide manufacturers with maximum performance and flexibility. These subsystems include a high-fidelity projection lens and illumination system, a precision X-Y stage, an automated substrate alignment system, an automated reticle handling and storage system, a sophisticated suite of metrology sensors, and in-focus aperture blades that make the Model 9200 one of the most advanced stepper platforms available.

Hakuto is the leading distributor of semiconductor and flat panel display manufacturing equipment in Japan. The company also provides technical services and distribution in the electronics assembly, photonics, and industrial chemicals industries. Hakuto has operated as Azores' distributor in Japan since 2004.
